Day 6 - Something You Read

I just returned from Semarang today. We (me and my friend) went to a debating competition at Unnes (Universitas Negeri Semarang) to support our junior debaters. You know, I'm a third speaker btw.
Then we went to this bookstore and I bought some books to read.

(Taken at my study desk)

That red novel over there is An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.
I'm in love with the previous novel entitled The Fault in Our Stars by the same author. I cried when Hazel said she was a grenade, and when Augustus went really sick and died !
John Green was a genius!! And I hope An Abundance of Katherines will be as beautiful as The Fault in Our Stars.
Yayy! and FYI I can't wait to watch the movie on June!  Hope the movie won't dissapoint the readers.

Here's the synopsis of An Abundance of Katherines (from the book)

19 Katherines and counting..

When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's type is a girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin ia always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact.

On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a blood thirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun - but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherines Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl.

From Best Friends to Lovers

2 years ago? Didn't remember the date, we met. Not a stranger but a friend. Best friend indeed. We talked, you approached. Our conversations are the best. Still fragile, our hearts, lots of doubt at first. Different. But wanting to learn. A title? Relationship? It's not our thing. Unique, yet serious, based on trust. Blessing from above, made us strong. Tears & laughter for 720 days I presumed, is nothing compared to thousands of days a head. Just like rainbows & sunshine. Storms and rain at first, but beautiful in the end. Fire, burn, but make our days fill with warmth. From best friends to lovers. I love you. ❤️ Something from my scrapbook Here's the file that I sent to him :) cheers, albertatheofila

26th May 2017

Ashes of you may be flowing in the ocean, but not the memories and the love we share.  Heaven and earth seems far away,  but not when I have Him who took care of you, here in my heart.  Heart broken, indeed. Not too long.  Since I shall path my own way, a long bumpy way,  till we meet again, mom ❤️ cheers, albertatheofila

Hummingbirds

Hummingbirds are INDEED one of my favorite animal. They are beautiful, unique, small, scientifically interesting to learn and fun to draw! Huitzilopochtli Even, from the myth and culture side; THEY ARE SMALL YET MIGHTY. The Aztec god of war Huitzilopochtli is often depicted as a hummingbird. It was also believed that fallen warriors would return to earth as Hummingbirds and butterflies. The Nahuatl word huitzil (hummingbird) is an onomatopoeic word derived from the sounds of the hummingbird's wing-beasts and zooming flight (Wikipedia). According to Defender of Wildlife , here're some facts about Hummingbirds: BASIC FACTS ABOUT HUMMINGBIRD  Hummingbirds are small, colorful birds with iridescent feathers. Their name comes from the fact that they flap their wings so fast (about 80 times per second) that they make a humming noise. Hummingbirds can fly right, left, up, down, backwards, and even upside down. They are also able to hover by fl...
